NOIDA:
Home buyers of Noida Extension have filed a writ petition in the
Allahabad high court demanding a complete stay on the cancellation of
bookings of housing units, which is being carried out by a few
developers in the region.
The petition has been filed by Noida Extension Flat Owners and Members Association (NEFOMA), an umbrella group of homebuyers that has been fighting for the rights of those who have booked housing units in the projects in the Greater Noida (West) region. The group has approached HC after several pleas to the Greater Noida authority and the district administration did not show any results. The petitioners' counsel, V Kumar, said the homebuyers had held the UP government, the Greater Noida authority and CREDAI responsible for failing to protect their interests.
The buyers want the Centre and the UP governments to enact legislations that safeguard the interests of investors.
